AdoptAI Drop-Ins

Bring your work. Explore what AI can do with it.

AdoptAI Drop-Ins are monthly, in-person working sessions designed to help 91传媒厂 staff turn AI concepts into practical improvements in their day-to-day work.

Bring your laptop and a real task, process, or challenge from your work. Each one-hour session begins with a short presentation and practical example from an 91传媒厂 colleague or subject matter expert, followed by hands-on exploration, conversation, and collaboration.

These are not lectures or technical training sessions. They are opportunities to experiment, ask questions, learn from colleagues, and discover ways AI can help you work more effectively.

Our goal is simple: leave each Drop-In with useful ideas, techniques, or solutions you can take back to your desk and apply right away.

AdoptAI Drop-Ins are held the second Thursday of every month from September through December. There is no RSVP required. Simply bring your laptop and join us.

What to Expect

Each AdoptAI Drop-In combines practical learning with time to work alongside colleagues.

You can expect:

  • Real staff use cases: Explore examples grounded in the kinds of workflows, processes, and challenges 91传媒厂 staff encounter every day.
  • Hands-on practice: Bring your laptop and try techniques during the session rather than simply hearing about them.
  • Community learning: Share ideas, compare approaches, and learn how colleagues across the university are using AI in their work.
  • Space to experiment: Ask questions, try something new, troubleshoot an idea, or explore a use case in a welcoming environment.
  • Practical takeaways: Leave with something you can use 鈥 whether that is a better approach to a task, a reusable prompt, a new workflow, or an idea for improving a process.

These sessions are approachable and no-code. While a basic familiarity with generative AI is helpful, you do not need to be an AI expert or have completed the AdoptAI Learning Path to participate.

Designed for 91传媒厂 Staff

AdoptAI Drop-Ins are designed specifically around staff workflows, productivity, and process improvement.

Topics will go beyond introductory uses of generative AI and focus on finding genuine opportunities to improve how work gets done, from strengthening everyday workflows to rethinking repetitive or time-consuming processes.

Bring a Laptop and a Use Case

You will get the most from a Drop-In if you arrive ready to work on something tangible.

Bring:

  • Your laptop
  • A task, workflow, process, or challenge you would like to explore

Your use case does not need to be fully formed. It can be as simple as, 鈥淭here has to be a better way to do this.鈥

Drop-Ins are a place to explore that question with colleagues.

Fall 2026 Drop-Ins

September 10: Prompt Like a Pro: Unlock Better AI Outputs

Thursday, September 10, 2026
1:30鈥2:30 p.m.
ISB 878
Presenter: James Ursin, AdoptAI Champion, Student Affairs

Better AI results often start with a better conversation.

In our first AdoptAI Drop-In, explore practical techniques for communicating what you need from generative AI and getting more useful, relevant results in return. James Ursin will demonstrate a real-world use case and introduce techniques you can immediately put into practice.

Then, put those ideas to work. Bring a task, prompt, or use case from your own job and spend time experimenting, comparing approaches with colleagues, and brainstorming ways to improve your workflow.
