91´«Ã½³§ Votes

91´«Ã½³§ Votes is a nonpartisan voter registration, mobilization, education and civic engagement initiative, created as a class active-learning project in 2018. It is now housed in the 91´«Ã½³§ Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (IPACE) and is managed by 91´«Ã½³§ faculty and students. Various political science classes still help to manage 91´«Ã½³§ Votes as an active-learning class project. 91´«Ã½³§ Votes works with campus and community partners such as the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, the 91´«Ã½³§ Center for Community Learning & Leadership, the California Secretary of State’s office, the 91´«Ã½³§ Office of the President, LEAD Filipino, the League of Women Voters, Pi Sigma Alpha Epsilon Iota chapter, Associated Students, the Asian Law Alliance, elected local, state, and national officials’ offices, and many others..
91´«Ã½³§ Votes works on nonpartisan GOTV (get out the vote) projects and other civic engagement projects in the campus and community. It has sponsored or co-sponsored voter workshops, ballot proposition forums, debate watch parties, candidate forums, door-to-door canvassing, and other excellent events.
The signature 91´«Ã½³§ Votes event is the 91´«Ã½³§ Votes Festival, celebrating National Voter Registration Day. This event is held in the fall semester. 91´«Ã½³§ Votes and IPACE are hosting the 5th 91´«Ã½³§ Votes Festival on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025 on the 91´«Ã½³§ Smith/Carlos Lawn from 10am-3pm. During this event celebrating National Voter Registration Day, 91´«Ã½³§ Votes, IPACE, and multiple campus and community partners will provide nonpartisan information about voter registration, voting, voting rights, and civic engagement opportunities.
