Registration for Fall begins on August 5th. Please follow the step-by-step registration instructions after you identify your student type below.
Currently-enrolled (admitted) 91传媒厂 students or those who have been admitted for the current term are not eligible to enroll through Open University. Registration for Open University students is not guaranteed and is subject to space availability. The enrollment limit for the Fall and Spring semester is 17 units for undergraduate students and 16 units for graduate students.
Identify your student status
Choose from the student status below. Depending on your student status, registration instructions will vary.
Current or former 91传媒厂 Graduate Students who have not completed their degree and were disqualified must register through the Open University using the DocuSign Registration Form. See our graduate student webpage for more information.
First-Time Open University student
- First-Time student w/ no 91传媒厂 ID (i.e. a student who attends another university or
college)
Registration begins on Thursday, January 8. See our FAQ in more detail. Class instructions begins on Thursday, January 22. Attend classes online or in person starting Thursday, January 22.
Start preparing on Monday, January 5 to enroll in your class(es) by DocuSign Open U registration form. Have your instructor add you to the waitlist if the class is full. Permission numbers are not necessary for form submissions.
Must have GAPE office approval for 200+ level classes. See our graduate student webpage for more information.
Starting Tuesday, February 4, permission numbers will be required to enroll in all classes.
Secure your spot in class. Submit payment for fees by the posted deadline. For other important registration and payment deadlines, visit our calendar webpage.

Returning Open University student
- Returning student w/ 91传媒厂 ID w/ a recent enrollment in a previous term within the
past year (i.e. an OU student who enrolled in a Spring 2025 class)
Get your account ready. Log into My91传媒厂 and follow these self activation steps to activate your account. After activating your account, you can enroll in your class starting from the first day of the registration.
If you have issues accessing your student account, you can reset your password or contact the IT Help Desk at ithelpdesk@sjsu.edu.
