How to Manage Student Finances

Learn about managing your student account with the Bursar's Office including locating due dates, available payment options, and signing up for electronic direct deposit refunds.

Welcome to the Spartan Family: Getting Connected for New Students and Family Members

First-Year Placement and Early Start

Location: Student Union, Meeting Room 1A/1B

Learn about how your mathematics and writing enrollment categories are determined and how they affect your first-year course options. We will also provide information about a summer enrichment program called Early Start, which allows students in all majors to complete their first math course before the fall semester begins. Early Start helps students in STEM majors get to calculus faster and students in Non-STEM majors complete their mathematics GE requirement with wrap-around academic support.


International Spartan Support

Location: Student Union, Meeting Room 2A

New, F-1/J-1 International students are encouraged to join Spartan staff from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and International Recruitment and Partnerships (IRP) at San Jose State University for a session on how to transition as a new international student at 91传媒厂. Learn about the final admission steps, how to transfer your I-20, and what support services and resources are available. From 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., international students are invited to meet with the team for interactive hands-on admissions drop-in advising. 


UndocuSpartans: Navigating 91传媒厂

Location: Student Union, Meeting Room 2B

Sessions 1 & 2 in English
Session 3 in Spanish

Incoming undocumented students and their family members are welcome to join us for an information session where they will:

  • Receive information on how to qualify for in-state tuition
  • Learn about financial aid options and resources for undocumented students
  • Identify opportunities to participate in the UndocuSpartan Student Resource Center

Study Abroad for All: Becoming a Global Spartan

Join us to discover all the amazing international and national experiences available to you at 91传媒厂! We have over 300 global programs around the world and over 100 domestic programs throughout the United States and the territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for every major, minor, or GE requirement. In this session we will provide an overview of all of our programming (models, type of experiences, locations, cost structures, available financial aid, eligibility requirements, global internship options, etc), and discuss how a globally or locally focused program can help you reach your personal, academic, and professional goals (and have a life-changing experience). Studying abroad or away is accessible to all undergraduate majors. Come and learn how to plan for and become a Global Spartan!

Our Cultural Center sessions are not offered in repeat sessions. Please be sure to check the session offering of the workshop you wish to attend as each organization will host only one presentation for the morning.

Nurturing Cultural Knowledge for Native American Indigenous Student Success: Welcome to NAISSC

Connect with the Native American Indigenous Student Success Center (NAISSC) to learn about the vibrant Indigenous community at 91传媒厂, and the various cultural and support services offered at NAISSC.

Join us to learn how the Chicanx Latinx Student Success Center (Centro) can support your transition to 91传媒厂 and help you build meaningful connections from day one. This session will introduce you to Centro鈥檚 programs, resources, and opportunities that foster academic success, cultural pride, and personal growth. You鈥檒l hear how students engage with Centro and learn ways to get involved, connect with others, and access support throughout your time at 91传媒厂.

Student Success for Black African American Students: Welcome to the BLOC

The Black Leadership & Opportunity Center is dedicated to building and solidifying the Black student community by focusing on providing relevant and exciting cultural, academic, and social experiences that foster a sense of community, and aid in the retention and graduation of our Black Spartans. This session provides an in-depth look at some of the amazing things happening at the BLOC.
